Glitter Eco Lovers is a certified dealer of Bioglitter™ and we only use Bioglitter in our specially designed glitter blends.

Our glitter is primarily produced from the cellulose of eucalyptus trees. This means that the glitter is plant-based and degradable. The eucalyptus trees are planted and harvested according to organic standards.

How does the glitter break down?

Heat, water and oxygen are required for effective biological breakdown by micro-organisms. Bioglitter is metabolized by microorganisms that transform it into carbon dioxide, water and biomass.

How fast does this process go?

When water, heat and microorganisms are present, the rate becomes faster. The best place for it is in soil as all the ingredients are present. You can expect the glitter to normally disappear within 90 days in this environment.

Responsibility

We believe that all businesses have a social responsibility to limit their impact on the environment and protect nature against environmentally harmful interventions.

We feel committed to promoting awareness of environmental issues and pollution of the oceans, and especially against microplastics such as synthetic (plastic) glitter. There are enormous amounts of glitter in the world, tons of plastic glitter are actually produced every year, and this glitter often disappears into the sea. There it either sinks to the bottom, or small fish eat the glittering bits of plastic.

We offer a glitter that is primarily produced from organic eucalyptus trees. Our cosmetic products are made from bioglitter which is made from the cellulose of wood pulp. This means that you buy products that are vegan, have not been tested on animals and break down naturally in nature.

As glitter glue, we use natural Aloe Vera gel. Our product Aloe Vera Gelly is organic and not diluted, which makes it thick and tough and excellent to use as a “glue”. This product is also vegan, not tested on animals.

All our packaging is PLASTIC-FREE, which is very unusual in the cosmetics industry.

ANIMAL WELFARE

You will never find products in our range that have been tested on animals. Innocent animals should not have to suffer because humans need beauty products.

Is bioglitter vegan?

Bioglitter® SPARKLE is the glitter we use in all our cosmetic products, and these are vegan.

Bioglitter® PURE is suitable for vegetarians and contains shellac.
